A guided way through GST, tax, ACC and KiwiSaver, built for sole traders, not accountants.
Findie has three parts: a guided setup on this website, the AI tool you already use, and My Findie, an app on your own computer. All three work from the same files, kept on your device.
Set up once, on this website
Once, at the start. Come back if things change.
Answer questions about how you work. Findie works out your GST, provisional tax, ACC and KiwiSaver setup, and builds a calendar of your real due dates. Your Hub keeps your summary on this device, with no login.
You get: Your setup decided, a calendar with real dates, and instructions for your AI.
Both read and write the same files, so a change in one shows up in the other. Findie never receives them.
How each job works
Every job ends in My Findie, where you check what your AI logged. One step depends on your AI: some can work in your Findie folder, others only read files you attach to a chat. Both ways are shown.
Receipts
Whenever you pay for something for the business.
Save the receipt.
Save the PDF, or take a photo. For an emailed receipt, save the attachment instead of forwarding it.
Your AI reads the file itself, so the original is the record.
Not paid yet? Keep the invoice where it is and file it once you've paid.
Your GST goes in the period you pay, not the period the invoice arrives.
File it in My Findie.
Drop the batch into File receipts. Each file gets a unique name and goes into your Receipts folder. Don't rename it afterwards.
The name is how your ledger points back to the file.
Get it into your ledger.
Your AI reads each receipt, proposes a row with a category and the GST, and waits for you to confirm.
There are two ways to do this, depending on your AI. The Hub checks which one is yours.
Usually paid plans, in the desktop app
If your AI can work in your Findie folder
Ask it to log any receipts in Receipts that aren't in your ledger yet. Once you confirm, it adds the rows to your ledger itself.
or
Usually free plans, or on a website
If your AI only reads what you attach
Open the Receipts tab in My Findie, which lists files filed but not yet logged. Attach those files to a chat in your Project or Gem, straight from the folder, not as screenshots, so the file names come with them. A few at a time is plenty. Attach ledger.csv too, so your AI can check for duplicates and reuse your earlier categories. When you've confirmed the rows, your AI gives you the new rows in one block. Copy it, open Review, choose Add rows, and paste.
Nothing is saved until you do. This is how My Findie does the saving when your AI can't.
Check it in My Findie.
Every row your AI adds is marked needs review. Open Review, compare each row with its receipt, and confirm it.
This is the step that makes the numbers yours.
Become a tester
Testers get a free access code. Try it as a ready-made persona, or with your own real numbers. Either way, you can stop and come back.
See it tested against real scenarios
Two composite test personas, deliberately different, tested end to end. Not real customers, not a testimonial.
Findie is an early, unreleased prototype. Not personalised financial or tax advice, and the content behind it hasn’t yet had a full accountant or lawyer review.
