A simple answer to an overpriced problem

Findie started from a simple observation: a lot of New Zealand sole traders are paying too much, every year, for a problem that isn’t actually that complicated once someone explains it properly. GST, provisional tax, ACC and KiwiSaver aren’t hard because the rules are impossible — they’re hard because nobody’s ever laid them out for you specifically, in plain language, once.

That’s the No.8-wire instinct behind this: don’t build another expensive piece of software, and don’t ask you to hand your books to someone else indefinitely. Work out what you actually need once, then hand you off to a tool you probably already have — Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini — to keep it tidy from there.

We think most self-employed Kiwis have a can-do attitude and are more capable with this stuff than the accounting industry gives them credit for, especially now that AI tools can do the tedious part. Findie’s job is to get you set up properly, then get out of the way.
